I did a swap but it's less than expected
There are two cases in which the price in terms of amount becomes lower in swap transactions.
- Price Slippage: All swaps have a pre-set slippage limit. If the price changes after the order is placed, this restriction prevents the swap from completing at an unfavorable price. For example, if the slippage is set at 5% and you buy 100 tokens, the price may change, but you will not receive less than 95 tokens. This can be prevented by changing the swap tolerance.
- Price Difference (or Price Impact): This is when a price difference occurs prior to approving the swap quote. It usually appears when liquidity for a given token is low or the order size is large. It is important to see the difference between the value of the token you currently hold and the value of the token you are exchanging. Burrito Swap gathers several quotations from various DeFi protocols.
- By using Burrito to execute swaps, you deal directly with the liquidity provider that offered the best price for the trade you wanted. It provides the optimal quote for each transaction before the Burrito or Swap is submitted, but when a volatile asset is traded, market and network conditions can vary significantly, so we cannot guarantee that all transactions will be successful.
