Wallet back up and recover

ํƒœ๊ทธ

Why do I need to backup?

๐Ÿ“ค
A wallet backup is a copy of the recovery letter that can be used to recover the wallet. The recovery letter is a combination of 12 or 24 words that are created together when creating a wallet. Using the recovery letter, the user can recover the wallet account on a new device or other wallet services and create a private key in the wallet. Through this key, assets can be moved externally. The user individually manages the recovery text and private key in the non-custodial wallet, Burrito Wallet. The company can't tell you if the user forgets or loses the recovery text or private key. The user must therefore manage the recovery letter to prevent its disclosure to others. Also, the recovery letter must be backed up and stored safely so that the user's wallet account can be recovered. You cannot recover your wallet with Burrito Wallet's app password, and you must have a recovery letter to restore your wallet.

What is the difference between password and recovery text?

๐Ÿ”’
The password is used to manage my Burrito wallet account. The recovery text is required to recover the wallet and allow access to the assets in the wallet.
When updating the account information created at the time of registration, the password is required.
ย
A recovery text is required to import from your previous wallet from different phones or to download and use the app on another smartphone.
The biggest difference is that access to the wallet itself is possible only with a recovery letter, and a password is used to change my account information or settings in the wallet.
ย
If you forget your password, you can change it by resetting your Burrito account password.
If the recovery letter is lost, you cannot find it or reset it unless you have backed it up.
A password is used to manage your account within Burrito Wallet, and a recovery text is required to recover your wallet, allowing you to access your assets in your wallet.
A password is required when changing the information of the account created at the time of signup.
ย
Only through the recovery text can you bring your existing burrito wallet when you change phones or download and run the app on another device.
ย
The main distinction is that accessing the wallet requires a recovery text, whereas changing my account information or wallet settings requires a password.
ย
By changing your account password, you can change your password if you've forgotten it.
However, If you do not back up the recovery text when you lose it, you cannot find or reset the recovery text.

What are recovery texts?

๐Ÿ”“
What is recovery text?
The recovery text is a combination of 12 or 24 words that are created together when creating a wallet. Using the recovery text, users can recover their wallet account on a new device or other wallet services, and create a private key in the wallet. Assets can be moved externally.
Burrito Wallet is a non-custodial wallet where the user independently controls the recovery text and private key. If the user does not remember or loses the recovery text, the company cannot notify the user of the recovery text.
ย
Once the recovery text is exposed, others can access your wallet and take your virtual assets. Please keep the recovery text safe so that it is never exposed!
